The French Tabletop Board Games App Landscape in Q1 2021

The first quarter of 2021 has been an interesting period for tabletop board game apps in France. Using data from Sensor Tower, we can observe the performance of the top five applications in this category. Here's how they fared in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

Chess - Play and Learn started the quarter strong with downloads peaking at 52K and then gradually declining to 19K. Revenue followed a similar trend, starting at $31K and dipping to $22K by the end of March. Weekly active users experienced growth, increasing from 250K to over 313K.

Chess saw its downloads decrease from 22K to 7.7K over the quarter. Despite a fluctuating revenue, which peaked at $56 in mid-January, it ended the quarter with a low of $11. Weekly active users showed a slight upward trend, starting at 101K and reaching 122K by the end of March.

Ludo King™ experienced a fluctuating download pattern, beginning with 20K downloads and ending the quarter with 12K. Its revenue saw an initial increase to $5.3K in the first week of January, followed by a general decline to $1.9K. The weekly active users had a slight dip but remained relatively stable, hovering around 104K to 116K.

Checkers Online witnessed a decrease in downloads from 12.6K to 4.7K. Revenue showed some volatility, with a peak at $43 in late January and a drop to $16 by the end of the quarter. The app's weekly active users saw a decline from 38K to 24K.

Lastly, Chess - Clash of Kings showed a downward trend in downloads, starting at 13.7K and falling to 3.1K. Revenue peaked at $289 in late January but decreased to $43 by the end of March. The weekly active user count reduced from 63K to 40K over the quarter.
